Back from vacation, tackling the backlog

I don't often take very long vacations, usually just long weekends, but I am returning to work tomorrow. Interesting things I'm noting:

• over 1000 pieces of junk mail, even though we have corporate filters
• some low-level surprises in the email, such as folks scheduling interviews / meeting with me even though the time is blocked out in Outlook (my calendar)
• some interesting news regarding some big projects and our recent corporate acquisition (see next post)

It's safe to say that there's really no good time to take vacation, so might as well take it! I am looking forward to getting back to things, having successfully cleared out the cobwebs.
