Creating Monthly Status Reports
My first
real
blog entry, and it's feeding my first item for the "essays" blog - so
I'm initializing some "elements of style". It's turning out to be more
effort than my normal monthly status report process, but it's
"investment work"; as the scope of the site/blog increases, it will stay
maintainable, consistent, and the manageable. It's also the first "test"
of the whole blog dev/test/prod cycle for me - and, I'm working out the
CSS bugs in my blogger implementation. Finally, I'm furiously trying to
anticipate future projects for the site, projects that will help me
manage and present the content better - so, many notes in many to-do
lists. It's also a terrific example of how work can be like netted
fractals; you start on one thing, but a line item of detail in one
project expands to two hours in a related project, a level of detail
below what you originally planned to tackle.
