It’s all Blogger’s fault – they announced earlier this year that the FTP method for publishing blog posts will stop by May 1. I took that as a sign – I rework the look / feel of things around here every three years or so (this is Version 4.0 of the web site, as it were).

I figured it was time to convert to WordPress – been thinking about it for a while, and the platform is right up my preferred language alley. Had plenty of fun reworking the look / feel, incorporating some jQuery stuff, even ratcheting up the social networking stuff. It may appear that I am a Fast Follower, but I think the f8 announcements last week were just fortuitous timing.

I still have a ton of stuff to move / rework, while maintaining the GoogleJuice from the last six years. It’s been too long since my last post, and I have an interesting backlog piling up. And, I have to properly credit folks whose work I am re-using – best part of the web is the ability to quickly and [relatively] easily mix and match well-engineered technology.

Some things to note:

• Things may look a little different when viewing the site in MS IE 6 or 7 – well known for their lack of compliance with web standards, but I am not the first in “dropping support” for these older browsers. However, I think I’ve gotten most of the incompatibilities addresses – if you see anything that looks a little squirrelly, just let me know.
• Apologies in advance to anyone who does not get properly credited for any images – I am just starting to put images in all my posts (even going back and hitting the old ones), so if anyone takes offense – let me know, I am happy to give credit where credit is due.

As noted before, I’ve a decent backlog building up, so please look forward to some interesting stuff coming up. I appreciate your thoughts, comments – and your continued readership!
